It is important to keep the calf muscles stretched or lengthened in order to walk properly and run properly. One must be able to bring the foot up to neutral and ideally 10 degrees past neutral in order to walk normally. If the ankle cannot move that far, then compensatory movements must occur at other joints, tendon, ligaments which can lead to painful foot conditions.

Preform each maneuver below for 30 seconds, 3x/day on each leg

  • Make sure to stabilize yourself before preforming, holding a wall or railing
  • You should not have pain when stretching
